FF1 Chair Design by Tom de Vrieze & James van Vossel is comprised of only a couple of components: one solid synthetic felt page and flax rope. The particular felt is coiled and also recoiled to form the base, seats, and back as the flax rope holds the type and provides a nice crowning glory. Aside from drilling holes there is no loss of materials and the structure is very self supporting. Overall potential for DIY. Sensed follows function within this symmetric yet asymmetric design.
